Meet Matt & Whitney!
Hello! We are Whitney and Matt, owners of Owen’s General Store!
Whitney has spent much of her life in Maine. In addition to running Owen’s General Store alongside her partner Matt, Whitney is a dedicated Licensed Professional Mental Health Counselor, therapist, Connection Coach, and Certified Trauma-Informed Breathwork Practitioner. She is passionate about making connections, supporting others, traveling, and being near the ocean as much as possible.
Matt was born and raised in Lincolnville and has developed a deep sense of community and connection with the tiny midcoast town. With over 20 years of management experience, Matt is a skilled veteran when it comes to running a store. Easily recognized by his signature Matty P smile and legendary hair, Matt never hesitates to lend a helping hand and give back to his community.
On our (very few) days off you can find us paddleboarding on Megunticook lake, playing heated rounds of Bananagrams with our boys, Andrew, Adrian, and Greyson, or taking our pups Paniau and Puako to the beach!
Meet Owen
Owen Eldridge is Whitney’s middle son and the namesake for Owen’s General Store. In August 2023, Owen suddenly and tragically passed away at age 19.
To know Owen was to love him. He was driven and determined in his work and pursuits of happiness, and actively sought adventure at every turn. He was inherently hard-working, pursuing avenues of entrepreneurship and willing to build a world of happiness and connection to thrive in. He was silly and full of love, feeling deeply connected to music, nature, his Hawai’i ohana, and time spent in the ocean.
At Owen’s General Store, we aim to embody the values he lived by: ambition, adventure, compassion, drive, and integrity.
